Soundtrack for „mother mara“

I am pleased to inform you that I have just completed the soundtrack for the film "Mother Mara" by Serbian director Mirjana Karanović. The film tells the moving story of Mara, whose life is thrown into disarray by the sudden death of her only son. Mara tries to cope with her loss and find a way to move on through a relationship with a younger man.

"Mother Mara" is a poignant drama that sensitively and authentically portrays the emotional challenges of a mother in mourning. The impressive performances of the cast, led by award-winning director Mirjana Karanović herself in the lead role, contribute to the film's strong emotional impact.

I am proud to have had the opportunity to contribute the film's music and look forward to audiences having the opportunity to see "Mother Mara" at various festivals. The film will undoubtedly leave a deep and lasting impression.

Score for the TV Pilot "Brandheisser Einsatz"

Write a complete score for a TV movie pilot in three and a half weeks? Done. It was fun even if the time was a bit tight.

"Brandheißer Einsatz" is a production of Krebs & Krappen Film (producers Claudia Krebs and Volker Krappen) directed by Martin Busker on behalf of ARD Degeto for ARD for the slot "Endlich Freitag im Ersten". The screenplay was written by Volker Krappen. Katja Kirchen and Stefan Kruppa (both ARD Degeto) are the editors, Christoph Pellander (ARD Degeto) is the executive producer.

Soundtrack for "Einfach Nina" by Karin Heberlein

I was allowed to write the score for the beautiful television film "Einfach Nina" by Karin Heberlein. The film beautifully tells us the story of Nina who used to be Niklas, but actually she was always Nina.

The legendary Dani Hobi and I were allowed to produce the soundtrack for the new Saarbrücken Tatort by Kerstin Polte. With lots of voices, “Judith” the noise box, lots of criminal energy and a serious expression.

Andrea Staka decided to film my son, my mother and me with the Bolex camera during the lockdown. I wanted to capture the restlessness and weightlessness that I felt and capture our everyday life: we tried to live on, even though everything was different. Only the birds in front of our windows continued to chirp happily.

I happy to announce that the SWR Tatort "Rebland" of the Schwarzwald serie with my music will premier on sunday 09/27. The music is built around glass instruments and stone drumming by the amazing Simon Berz.

Was ist uns Kultur wert?


Eine Gesellschaft, die sich nur durch Rationalität und Konsum definiert führt zu einer geistigen Verarmung ihrer Mitglieder. Die Menschen, die sich in einem solchen System bewegen, können die Komplexität des sie umgebenden Systems nur durch Trivialisierung bewältigen. Letztlich wird über den Preis eine Entscheidung gefällt. So wird nicht die beste, sondern immer die billigste Lösung gefunden. Komplexe Systeme werden somit zerstört! Viel besser kann der Mensch komplexe Zusammenhänge mit emotionaler Bewertung und intuitivem Agieren bewältigen. Darum brauchen wir Kultur! Sie erlaubt es uns Strategien zu entwickeln die jenseits rationalem Verstehens liegen. Eine Fähigkeit von der in nächster Zukunft unser aller Überleben abhängig sein wird. Die Frage ist nur was uns das wert ist.
